Validation & Verification Body Operations Manual
As a VVB (Validation & Verification Body), you are responsible for independently assessing carbon projects to ensure they meet the required standards and accurately report emission reductions.
Review project design documents, methodology application, and baseline calculations before project implementation.
Verify actual emission reductions achieved during monitoring periods against claimed reductions.
View all assigned validations and verifications awaiting your review.
Browse all projects assigned to you, organized by task type and status.
Manage clarification requests sent to developers and review their responses.
Receive alerts for new assignments, query responses, and deadline reminders.
Projects are assigned by the platform administrator. You'll receive a notification with project details.
Access and review all project documentation including PDD, methodology, baseline, and monitoring plan.
Work through the validation checklist, marking items as compliant or raising queries as needed.
Approve the project for the next phase or reject with detailed justification.
Examine data collected during the monitoring period, including generation records and emission calculations.
Cross-check claimed emission reductions against monitoring data. Apply any necessary adjustments.
Calculate leakage deductions and buffer pool contributions as per methodology requirements.
Document verified emission reductions and submit for registry review.
